Get ISO 45001 Certification Requirements

To obtain ISO 45001 certification, an organization must meet the following requirements:


Develop and implement an OH&S management system: The organization must establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an ISO 45001 OH&S management system that is designed to manage OH&S risks and opportunities.


Identify and assess OH&S risks: The organization must identify and assess OH&S risks associated with its activities, products, and services, and take appropriate actions to eliminate or minimize them.


Establish OH&S objectives and targets: The organization must establish OH&S objectives and targets that are measurable, achievable, and consistent with the organization's OH&S policy.


Monitor and measure OH&S performance: The organization must monitor and measure its OH&S performance, including the effectiveness of its OH&S management system, and take corrective actions as necessary.


Implement a management review process: The organization must conduct periodic management reviews of its OH&S management system to ensure its ongoing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.


Comply with legal and regulatory requirements: The organization must comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements related to OH&S.


Provide OH&S training and awareness: The organization must provide OH&S training and awareness programs to ensure that employees and other relevant parties are aware of OH&S hazards, risks, and controls.


Establish and maintain communication: The organization must establish and maintain effective communication with internal and external parties related to OH&S matters.


Continually improve OH&S performance: The organization must continually improve its OH&S performance by setting objectives and targets, measuring its performance, and taking corrective actions as necessary.


By meeting these requirements, an organization can demonstrate its commitment to managing OH&S risks and protecting the health and safety of its employees and other relevant parties. Once the organization's OH&S management system has been audited and found to be in compliance with the ISO 45001 standard, it can be certified by an accredited certification body.
