ISO 41001

ISO 41001 is an international standard that provides requirements for an effective Facility Management (FM) system. The standard was published in 2018 and is intended to be used by any organization, regardless of size or sector, that wants to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve its FM system.

The main aim of ISO 41001 is to provide a framework for managing and improving the performance of an organization's facilities. The standard covers various aspects of FM, including:

Leadership and Strategy: Establishing and communicating FM policy, objectives, and targets, and ensuring top management commitment and support for FM.

Planning and Support: Determining the necessary resources and support for effective FM and ensuring proper planning of FM activities.

Operation: Managing and delivering FM services, including asset management, maintenance, and cleaning.

Performance Evaluation: Monitoring and measuring the performance of FM activities and using the results to improve FM processes and services.

Improvement: Continually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of FM processes and services through corrective and preventive actions.

ISO 41001 certification can provide several benefits to an organization, including improved efficiency and effectiveness of FM processes, better risk management, enhanced customer satisfaction, and increased credibility and reputation. To obtain certification, an organization must demonstrate that its FM system meets the requirements of the ISO 41001 standard, typically through an audit by a third-party certification body.
